The ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) has added the first IPv6 addresses to its root DNS servers. IPv6 has trillions more Internet addresses than the current IPv4 format, and this is considered the first major step towards getting the world onto the new format.

Ya know what that means? America may not really have a problem right now assigning unique addresses to users like other countries, but eventually this will occur and this is a solution. If anyone recognizes a standard IP address (such as 68.xx.xxx.xx), this will be ancient history and might look something like “3ffe:1200:2001:1:8000::2″ - crazy! Try memorizing that shiat.
