Post Wedding

Posted in General on September 26th, 2004

The wedding went off without a snag so it seems - except for the A/C blowing out nearly all the candles. They are off on their honeymoon now and I’m back in Greenville all excited to go back to class tomorrow. Here are a few pictures I took..

Just wanted to give a quick shoutout to my newest reader -

No I’m not kidding…

I’m not really sure how you came across my site, but after visiting your site I’ve officially branded you as cool.

People - watch this video. Crazy stuff! Mario Brothers!!!

Oh yeah BFP - to answer your question. I’m honestly don’t know if theres a way to stop the worms with your site, just don’t put your information out there too much. My buddies over at GOTC might have more to say as they are a bit more webmaster savy than I (GOTC staff - please refer to this link for his question) - or you could leave your response here but it might be a worthy tutorial topic. :)

And one last thing BFP - you’ve got a great website and it’d be even better if you implented Wordpress in so that you have your blog onboard instead of thru xanga. Adfree :) This might spark GOTC to make a tutorial on how to use that sucka too

This morning I rode out to gun show at the Armory to browse around and - well - ended up buying my first gun. I’ve been considering doing this for quite sometime now, and if I want a career as a FLEO I need to be proficient as a marksman. Until my trip to Rocky Mount with Tom - I never really realized I’d be worth a damn with any sorta firearm but - things went well with rifles so I got myself a pistol to see how that goes. Now I just need to find somewhere (a range really) to practice with it…

.40 Caliber Smith & Wesson Semi-Automatic Pistol - two c lips, case and a case of rounds ended up costing me over 100 dollars less than retail including tax. I feel bad for buying it now but - I usually feel bad for buying anything for myself even though I consider this an investment in my future. (Irony ehh - a gun is an investment in ones future?? :) )

{If anyones into this kinda thing - please lemme know. I’d like to talk to you directly}

I was quoted in “The East Carolinian” and wanted to throw it up here - she actually got it right. I’ve been quoted before and it was wrong

…Criminal justice major Matt London thinks some buildings should be expanded for efficiency reasons.

“Expand the financial aid building so you don’t have to stand in line for four and a half hours,” said London…

Sooo Nifty!

I got my new memory card for my digital camera - so I plugged it in and gave it a whirl to make sure it would save pictures and that the camera would recognize it. It does. Now I’ll be able to take 128+ pictures if I so choose w/o running out of space. Screw that onboard memory crap..

O and I mentioned I tested it right? Well heres a few shots I took to make sure it was saving and they came out kinda funny - theres no explanation for these really - I’m just an idiot w/o a disguise. Enjoy! (for entertainment only you sick freaks!)

^What I look down on when I’m sitting at the old box…pardon the screen and window in the way

OMG 4 Entries in one day?! But really I just wanted to make a quick note of something I meant to a few weeks back..

If you’re an avid bloggeee/blogger than you might enjoy dropping on NUCLEAR mOOse and seeing what he has to say. Here’s a small exerpt on his opinion about Spam and what it really adds to our lives…

…So, let’s give those nasty spammers a break. While we love to hate them, they actually do us all a favour. Don’t believe me? Well, thanks to spam, I have an enormous penis, and can make love for 96 hours without a break. I have 17 degrees from universities all over the world, and I will be getting 20 million dollars from some guy in Nigeria who is having a tough time with bankers and politicians.

Assault Weapons ban ends quietly..

Assault Weapons Ban Ends Quietly
by Richard Simon

WASHINGTON — With a 10-year ban on assault weapons due to expire Monday, Congress is about to allow a remarkable reversal: once demonized semiautomatic weapons will again be sold to the public.

Around the nation, manufacturers now prohibited from selling the weapons are competing to reap the most out of their return. Beretta USA Corp. is offering two free large-volume magazines with the purchase of certain guns. ArmaLite Inc. is inviting gun buyers to start placing orders for rifles whose manufacture has been banned for 10 years.

Politicians who had only a few years ago responded to public pressure for controls on such weapons are keeping a cautious distance. President Bush says he supports extending the assault weapons ban, but he has not aggressively worked for legislation to extend it. John F. Kerry, his Democratic presidential opponent, voted this year to extend the ban, but the Massachusetts senator often talks about how he enjoys hunting and supports the 2nd Amendment right to bear arms.

…California will still have what is considered one of the nation’s toughest state laws against assault weapons, and bans in several other states also will remain in effect..

If your second amendment rights interest you - you can read more about this here.

Hey Justin - thanks for the .txt message about that 64mb SD/MMC @ Walmart but - I just ordered this one from Tigerdirect.

And I dunno if anyones ever seen this or if anyone ever reads my journal, but for those of you who have digital cameras and memory cards - this might enlighten you as to just how many pictures you can take.

*** Average file size using cameras highest resolution JPEG mode. The actual number of images per card will vary and depends on the camera model and compatibility of the scene being photographed.**

I’ve had a fairly leisurely weekend - but as for “sleeping in” I can’t get much past 10am anymore. When you get up at 6am every day - 10am is 4 extra hours and believe me, its cool. Plus it gives me more of an opportunity to go out and do things or just enjoy the things I have here at home (ie. my new video card wOOt)

As for the topic of this post - I’m going to attempt an upload and show you a few shots I’ve taken with my new digital camera. They aren’t anything fantastic but as I take more and more pictures the more I love this thing. Lets see if I can get WP thumbnail working properly (click thumb for larger picture but be warned, they are quite a large download)

^ECU vs. Wake #1 - Look at our stadium booya

^ECU vs Wake #2 - You thought you saw all the people didn’t you? Theres an upper deck I didn’t even get a shot of..

^Me in my “driving/talking” position..?

^Front of my townhouse - those mexicans are slackin up with the yard work..

^My job - 60′ bus. Some 18 wheelers aren’t even this long. This came out kinda crappy though because I stupidly used the wrong photo-setting

^Bus cockpit - I just like how clear this one came out

I’m being forced to update this thing, but I really don’t have anything new to say. My schedule this Fall is WEARING MY ASS OUT!

I get up at 6am EVERYDAY Monday-Friday and for anyone that knows me - wow. But I’m getting used to it - just makes for a very very long day. When I’m not in class, I’m driving and when I’m not driving or in class I’m enroute to drive or to class. Had a couple good birthday dinners though, overall it was a nice one. I’m getting damn old though..blah.

Getting things marked off my list though - I should really find some pretty girl on campus to practice my future rights as a police officer as granted by Terry vs. Ohio. HeHe. J?K

5am here I come..

Thanks to birthday gifts and catching a good sale at Best Buy I’ve gotten myself a digital camera. In fact is a 4.1 Megapixel with all sorts of bells and whistles and I basically got it at no cost to me. I get home to find out the camera doesnt have that many a great review - and indoor pictures are a bit fuzzy if you dont take them correctly - otherwise I think it’ll do just fine.

I got a free battery charger w/ rechareable batteries as well *bonus score!* So expect my ‘photo’ section of av8ur.com to return soon with some of my crappy photography skills shining bright.
