2004 Final Thought..

Posted in General on December 29th, 2004

I wanted to post a small update before the end of the year. 2004 marked the beginning of av8ur.com - but shalln’t mark the end. I have around a year left of undergrad school, then who knows. Maybe I’ll be shootin bad guys or maybe even rubberbands by December 2005. I had a good Christmas break at home, saw all my family n friends and had a ‘good ol time’. Git-r-Dun - thats my policy. *tip hat*

For the nerd side of me - I just picked up a new harddrive at BB for 50 bux. It’s big, fast and mean *grr*. Ive installed it, and am even trying out NTFS again to see if I like it. So far..So good. (Justin)

And in other news - this last semester went pretty well for me. I’m not big on distributing personal information about myself but overall this was a good semester considering the difficulty of the classes I was taking. 3 A’s, 1 B and a C is the tally as you can see below - I’m terrible at Algebra and it’s not the first time taking that damn class, so I’m thrilled with my C. I officially never have to take another algebra in my life again. That deserves a big WooT. All thanks to Megan too ;).

Ok enough about me - belated Merry Christmas n Happy New Year. See yallz

This sucks…

With mixed emotions I need to inform you that I have resigned from ECU with effect summer 2005. For many years at ECU I felt that my academic values, including viewing students as individuals and customers and not just “numbers” and my clear view of ethics/integrity [right vs wrong] are not compatible with those of some of my colleagues and managers. I finally decided it is better for me to move on and to find another university where my African background, real world policing, terrorism and security work experiences, belief in teaching excellence, commitment to student advising and love for community service will be respected and valued…

My response…

Dr. Ferreira,

I am shocked and saddened by your resignation. You have been by far the most influential instructor I’ve had here at ECU. I know that everything I have learned from you has been practical and real-life, and that I will use it everyday in my law enforcement career. My only regret is that I will not be able to learn more from you directly. I truely hope that ECU knows what it is losing and has done everything in its power to try to prevent it. Bureaucratic bullshit always seems to chase away the elite of the elite. I respect your decision and wish you the best though - you deserve better. If you wouldn’t mind - let me know when you find a new place to teach.

Yours respectfully,

Matt London (soon to be BSCJ)

This is my favorite CJ professor - he’s real world! Blah. Now all I have to look foward to is graduating.

Jedi Christmas

I just wanted to make a special post regarding the cool gift Megan D. got me for christmas. It was a big surprise and this thing is really nice. It’s a .45 scale of the original lightsabre but it’s very detailed and kinda heavy. For those of you who don’t know I’m an avid Trek/Wars fan so - anything like this is grand ;) The picture above is the one I received - you can view the others here.

They also have life sized ones - and although they are really cool I wouldn’t want anyone droppin 119 bones on one for me. Would be somethin badass to light up on home intruders though ;) - or carry it as nighstick instead. Haha Ok enough geeky comments for me. (but if you wanna look at the big ones you can see them HERE)

Thanks Megan!!!!!!!! Merry Christmas Folks

**Edit**
LOL! I just wanted to add this quote from the thinkgeek site regarding life size lightsabres
“ThinkGeek is not responsible should any customers who purchase this Lightsaber turn to the dark side. Nor are we responsible should you not contain sufficient Mitochlorians in your blood system to engage the force without reckless abandon.”
