Bus 29

I just wanted to make a quick entry about the todays events. Last night 103 called me and asked if I could drive an additional bus this morning on charter/orientation. Of course I stepped up! Didn’t even have to arrive at the garage until 0800! So I roll in aroun d 0730 this morning to see NO Gilligs left. Then I round the corner and find brand new Bus 29 all warmed up and ready for me to pimp out. Now this may mean nothing to most or all of you but - I’d say it’s pretty cool that management trusts me with their brand new top of the line $250,000 dollar bus that hasn’t rolled out of the lot since delivery. 6 other drivers arrived before I did and they held that bus just for me - I feel kinda honored. Ok - I know this sounds stupid and therefore I shall shuttup. But I bet none of you have experienced such a vote of confidence..

I hope this is a testament to the confidence which will be held in me in my future endeavours…

I’ll try to throw up a picture if I can remember to bring the camera out to the garage. Oh and Megans birthday is in 29 minutes. Happy Birthday Megan :)

Maybe, they saved that bus cuz it was for orientation and they wanted to show off the new stuff to the new students. Impress the new students and show them what their tuition is paying for. You’re not gonna send out the crap bus for them to ride. They could decide screw this, I’m going somewhere else to get my education. The school is not going to start to disappoint them until after they have comited and registered for classes. Although, I’m sure you are a wonderful driver, as you always have been.

Yeah, they definitely wanted to put on a good front for the new students. Although I might question their choice of driver if that’s the case…

It is a good feeling though. When I first started working at ESI - I had practically NO experience working with IBM eSeries AS400 systems, and I was entrusted to help maintain a $20,000 server. Quite motivating to do a good job isn’t it?

And yes - it is probably a little pathetic that we get that excited over these things, but hey, everyone has their thing, right? Ours just isn’t beanie babies or barbie dolls.

Thanks for the positive comments - both of you. Since they are so positive - I could drive circles around you both. Just try me

Well, I am very proud and you have every right to be excited about it! You go boy!
