CX 7530

Posted in General on September 2nd, 2005

These birthday presents just keep getting better and better. Anyone who knows me has probably heard me complain about my older digital camera before and…while it’s not a bad camera it just doesn’t take the best indoor shots without great lighting.

So as of now the old Gateway DC-M42 is for sale because this baby has moved into town!

Me on my first day as a US Marshal Intern..

Megan insisted on taking this - too bad my camera takes great pictures one second and fuzzy ones like this the next.

I really couldn’t be happier with my internship. I walked in Monday morning and it wasn’t 5 minutes before I was being briefed on a surveillance I was gonna participate in. I just finished day 4 and I can already tell I was made for law enforcement. I think like them, I act like them (the good ones) - I am one of them. I just hope they feel that way around the office and when I start applying for a job. Federal law enforcement is for me…but I understand that I may have to work in lower levels to begin with but, who knows? They gave me a parking spot (rare downtown), a desk and computer but I’m still waiting for a login to access those as they are encrypted and monitored for obvious reasons.

Enough about that…

New Orleans..Biloxi…wtf?!

I wish I could head down and drive busses to shuttle people from the Super Dome to the Astro Dome - I want to help…hell I would drive for free and sleep in the seat if I needed to. I heard there were 1000 busses enroute there now…thats..amazing…

I’m really disappointed in the federal government with this situation - sure they called a “National Emergency” before Katrina even hit but they’ve taken what..4 days to get things going? I have some pretty strong opinions about this but they do no good. Things are “after the fact” now and theres no reason to mettle on the past - it’s time to look to the future and be effective.

And gas prices? Holy lord…I’m only calm about it because I know those who lost everything in the hurricane would give an arm and a leg to pay 3 bucks for a gallon of gas if it meant they had food, water and electricity. I won’t be doing much for my birthday though - I had planned to ride up to Raleigh for the day but you can forget that! I’ll have a good day with Megan.

Oh and if anyone is curious about my entry title you’ll just have to ask me. No - I am not RoboCop

Oh and a small addition to this entry that I just heard on the news. Thank You to France for offering international aid and water purification for New Orleans. When the Tsunami hit EVERYONE IN THE WORLD looked to the United States to help all of those people there but when some people here need help - well..lets just say you could hear a pin drop in the halls of other nations. Thank you France…the rest of you can kiss my ass.
