It’s official; I’ve fallen victim to..

PH2006041001490.jpg (name that pistol!)

24 yo! I’m not an avid prime time TV guy, but in the first 10 minutes of watching a new episode I’ll go ahead and say I’m hooked. I won’t act like I’m a ‘wantmoore‘ for this show, but it’s very entertaining when you pay attention. Now if I can just get Justin to get online during the show and fill in these plot line potholes created my own ignorance to the plot history ;)

I can’t wait for that CTU ring for my budge phone *laff*

Armored Fury

Posted in General on May 12th, 2006

Coming up is EA’s (gag) latest ‘booster pack’ (double gag) for my good buddy known as Battlefield 2.  Armored Fury is the second booster pack to be released, and I hope this is a good one (the screenshot below hopefully confirms it will be).

I’m an avid Battlefield supporter and have stuck with the game during its high and low points, even buying the expansions that noone really played beyond the first month or two post release.  I did pass on Euroforce, but may buy it some day just to complete the collection. Maybe if I wait long enough that one will be free ;)

Return of Superman

The ultimate superhero is returning - I’m surprised it took them this long to make the film considering all of the other comic characters who have their own recent movies now.

Check out this trailer for the movie; I know the guy who made it ;)

And then some…

I don’t mean to go nuts with these videos, but they just can’t be missed.

First up, a high speed smooth air traffic control op for FEDEX during a storm.

Love the music too ;)

And for anyone that missed the President Bush impersonator (Steve Bridges) at the correspondents dinners..

Lazy Ramadi

A spoof on the SNL Lazy Sunday, but you can’t get that anywhere it seems for ‘terms of use’ violations (Thanks NBC).

(source: Rolsskk. Joel…too bad I can’t link you seeing as how you have no blog and vicariously post cool stuff you find thru mine ;) )

Turkey Pardon

Posted in General on May 9th, 2006

Generally speaking I’m a Bush supporter (minus a few things here n there), but I really get a kick outta Bush’isms, Bush presidential speech moments, and other Bush funnies. In the spirit of that..

Hehe. National Turkey Pardoning or something like that ;). I love those “This week in pictures” features on news sites.

What an idiot…

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Zacarias Moussaoui, who was sentenced last week to life in prison, on Monday filed a motion to withdraw his guilty plea and said he lied when he testified that he was meant to be part of the September 11 hijacking plot.

Moussaoui, 37, said in an affidavit filed with the motion that he had pleaded guilty last year to conspiracy in connection with the attacks against the advice of his court-appointed lawyers because his understanding of the U.S. legal system was “completely flawed.”

Moussaoui’s court-appointed lawyers — who rarely speak to their client — said in a footnote that they were aware of a federal rule that prohibits a defendant from withdrawing a guilty plea after a sentence is imposed. But they said they filed the motion anyway “given their problematic relationship with Moussaoui.”

This is just laughable now. I have a experience with the federal court system, and the one or two of these I saw always ended with a retraction or a raised eyebrow by the judge.

Strategic Thinker

Posted in General on May 5th, 2006

I tend to shy away from those quizzes, because they are generally mindless crap, but every once in a while Justin finds a good one. This was a Personality ID Test, it’s free and there’s no signing up for anything. Here are my results..

General Description
As a Strategic Thinker, you excel by blending your strong drive to reach goals with a desire for precision, accuracy, and quality. As a result, you are well equipped to be in charge, especially in situations or projects where producing quality output is a priority.

Typical Areas of Strength
Strategic Thinkers, like you, are goal-oriented, precise, analytical, assertive, confident, prepared; you tend to insist on high standards. You have a good eye for detail and usually push to get things done right.

Typical Areas of Struggle
You may sometimes come across as rigid, cold, picky, pushy, dogmatic, or stubborn. In your desire to achieve results, you may become overly critical, judgmental, or insistent on doing things your way.

Your Preferred Activities
Because you are highly task-oriented, you usually desire to control two key elements of any project: goals and quality.

Your Communication Style
Strategic Thinkers, like you, are usually gifted communicators who strongly believe that what they are saying is absolutely correct and represents the right direction to take.

Strategic Thinker huh? I suppose this applies to my career goals ;)

Staples are gone!

I had a doctors appointment this morning at 11, so Megan set aside her studying to drive me over. On the way we stopped at McDonalds for a little breakfast only to find out they had run out of biscuits. Now lemme get this straight, 3/4’s of your breakfast items are squished between a biscuit, but you have none. Ok..Megan was mad, but we fumbled our way into a coupon meal with 2 bagel breakfast sandwiches and one drink. It was 3 bucks and worked great.

So we arrive at the doc’s office and we aren’t sitting in the lobby more than 5 minutes when I’m called back. An ‘nurse‘X-Ray Tech takes me back and asks me to sit on the table..no gown, no laying down, and no doc. She lifts my shirt and starts working on my dressing, and the next thing I know I hear ‘clink’. It was the first staple falling in the tin. Of the 18 in my back I barely felt one come out. As she pulled them out though I felt my skin stretching a little and for some reason I got queasy…she finished, put another dressing on my back and said “you’re all done”. I gave her a look and laid down. She started fanning me with a paper, and in a minute I was fine. I must say, I’m the type of guy whos just on top of everything. Just about everything…I had to lay down, there was no getting around it. I saw the doc, but it was in the hallway. There was no copay for this visit, so I wasn’t gonna complain.

So as of today I’m on my own. I’m still taking it easy and enjoying the laptop downstairs with my big tv and my big window to look outside. Tomorrow I’m going to attempt my first full shower now that the staples are gone. No, I do not stink, bird baths are just getting old. I take 1 Darvaset around every 6 hours when I’m awake, I have to move into retarded but safe positions to do simple stuff like turn on lights, and tonight I’ve done a little laundry. It’s not all that bad if I move slow, but I get tired and have to lay down after a small load.

Tomorrow after my shower William’s gonna pick me up and take me out to Bear Grass to help him hook up his new TV/Surround Sound/HD Satellite system. It won’t be bad because I’ll be able to get outta the house, and get to play with expensive toys without having to do any of the lifting. It should be a good day, I hope it’s nice outside.

It’s kinda frustrating to just lay around and do nothing..some people dream of that, but it’s really not all it’s made out to be, believe me ;). I feel like I should be out there exercising by running and weights and just getting myself into shape enough to pass a fit test. I don’t think I’ll be better in time to make the Greenville fit test, which means I’m out of the running for that for another year. I’m holding onto a wisp of a chance that I’ll still be able to do Raleigh, and I’m even considering Charlotte-Mecklenburg PD. Either way I’m determined that all of this hard work on my degree will not go to waste and I will be a police officer soon. Then I can start paying off this ** debt.
